Esther is a prolific writer with a career devoted to the ideas that create Australia’s future, Esther is one of the nation’s most published arts leaders. She has written for every major literary journal, newspaper and art and design publication in Australia, authored several book chapters and creative pieces, and presented at writers’ festivals and events all over the nation.

Dining with Art
Dine alongside the famous portraits from the 2022 Archibald Prize exhibition, for a fundraising event, hosted by Friends of the Gallery. Hear from 2022 Archibald Prize winner Blak Douglas, who will join us as the events guest speaker.
The evening will include the opportunity to bid on and secure original artworks from a range of well-known and emerging artists.
The 2 course catered dinner will also include drinks and entertainment across the evening.

This event is a fundraiser for Friends of the Gallery, who directly support local artists and acquisitions for Wagga Wagga Art Gallery.

Wagga Wagga Art Gallery Supporters Event
Join us at the Wagga Wagga Art Gallery Supporters Event at the Gallery on the 11th December 10.30am – 12 noon. The event is to acknowledge and celebrate the work of the Friends and supporters of The Gallery. Event includes a champagne brunch, with a private preview of the Blanche Tilden exhibition ‘Ripple Effect’ in the National Glass Gallery. Tickets are free, but bookings required. Bookings will be made available soon.
Annual Art Auction
The Friends of the Wagga Wagga Art Gallery and Eastern Riverina Arts present Wagga’s Wonderful inaugural Annual Art Auction.
With works from established and emerging artists you are invited join the auction and invest in the future of Art in the region. There will be around 40 works up for auction!
The Friends of the Gallery collection includes items donated from the Giurgola Estate, from the collection of the late Romaldo "Aldo" Giurgola AO (2 September 1920 – 16 May 2016). Giurgola was an Italian academic, architect, professor, and author who was behind the design of the Australian Parliament House in Canberra. There are works by famous artists and some unknown.
The Eastern Riverina Arts (ERA) Collection features a series of A4 works created for an ERA project in response to COVID. 22 artists from across the region are represented in the auction.
The works will be on display at The Curious Rabbit from the 1st - 20th of November with the auction being held at The Wagga Wagga Art Gallery on Sunday the 21st of November at 2pm.
All proceeds from the FOG auction items will benefit the Wagga Wagga Art Gallery. All proceeds from the ERA auction will be go back ERA for another project to support artists in 2022.

Dear Friend,
On behalf of the Committee of the Friends of the Wagga Wagga Art Gallery, I would like to invite you to attend the 2021 Annual General Meeting of the Friends. This will be held at The Curious Rabbit – 44 Johnston Street on Tuesday the 16th of March 2021 at 5.30pm.
As specified in the Constitution of the Friends, the business of the Annual General Meeting or AGM will include reports from the President and the Treasurer, and from the Manager of the Gallery, on activities of the Friends over the past twelve months, and the election of members to the Committee. Officers elected include the President, Vice President, Treasurer and Secretary, as well as voting members. We will also seek other voting members to join the Committee.
A Nomination Form for these positions is attached, and I urge you to consider nominating yourself or others for any of the offices. Nomination Forms can be posted to the Committee at PO Box 8752 Kooringal NSW 2650, emailed to fog.waggawagga@gmail.com, left at the Gallery Shop or given to the Secretary at the AGM itself.

NGA & National Portrait Gallery Jolly Bus Trip to Canberra
Join the Friends of the Wagga Wagga Art Gallery for a sensational art experience in Canberra at the National Gallery and the National Portrait Gallery.
Be one of the first to enjoy the winning entries of the National Photographic Portrait Prize at the National Portraits Gallery. Have a delicious lunch on the balcony. We will then make our way across the sky bridge to the National Gallery of Australia where we will view (with audio) Matisse & Picasso. Experience the work of two of histories greatest artistic rivals. The exhibition traces the turbulent relationship of Henri Matisse and Pablo Picasso as they charted a new course for modern European art in the 20th century. The exhibition features more than 60 paintings and sculptures drawn from prestigious public and private collections in Australia and internationally including Musee National Picasso, Paris, Tate London and the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York.
Depart: Riverina Playhouse car park at 8 am.
Arrive: Riveria Playhouse at approximately 6.30 pm.
Tickets: $150.00 FOG members; $165.00 non FOG members. The cost Includes travel, home cooked morning tea, lunch at the National Portrait Gallery, gallery entries and audio.
